UNUSUAL CARVED AND PAINTED CHILD’S PINE ROCKING HORSE ON STAND.

Second half 19th century, American. This carved fine example with old cream or pale blue paint, tacked leather harness, bridle and saddle. The saddle with straw filling joined to a plank platform attached to a mechanism of coiled flat springs on an axle joined to shaped supports with baluster-turned stretchers. SIZE: 38″ h x 49″ approx. l. CONDITION: Structurally good. Painted surface and all accoutrements extensively worn with several losses.
