CHARMING AND UNUSUAL STEIFF PURPLE VELVET RABBIT ON A MOHAIR PIN CUSHION.

A beautiful example which does not appear in the standard Steiff Sortiment books. Rabbit is sitting, head jointed and is made of lilac and tan velvet. His ears are lined in wire and are posable. The insides of the velvet ears are lightly airbrushed in pink. Rabbit’s face is detailed with large brown and black glass pupil eyes, a tan hand-embroidered nose, which is outlined in black, and a black mouth. Rabbit retains his trailing “F” button and has remnants of his red ear tag. Rabbit rests upon a lovely light green square mohair pin cushion. This item is believed to be from the early to mid-1930s.
