CHINESE EXPORT LACQUER SEWING BOX ON STAND.

1st half 19th century. Featuring an octagonal lift lid lacquer sewing chest with 2 handles, having a scrolling Ogee top and interior fitted with compartments. Sitting atop its original conforming base, having a pull out sewing bag, supported by a turned pedestal, a shaped platform all a top 3 carved hairy paw feet. Entire surface in lacquer with gilt decoration. SIZE: Overall 18-1/2″ x 13″ x 33″ h. CONDITION: Structurally sound, with losses, wear and restoration to lacquer, considerable deterioration to silk cloth bag. 9-94852 (1,000-1,500) – Lot 3005
