DELIGHTFUL VERY EARLY LARGE STEIFF BEAR WITH BUTTON.

A delightful vintage circa 1907 bear with a wise and pensive expression. This big boy is made from long gold mohair and is 5-ways jointed. He has a traditional appearance to him with his long arms, over-sized feet, and exaggerated back hump. His soulful face is detailed with black shoebutton eyes, trimmed muzzle area, and a black hand embroidered nose and mouth. You can see bits of the gray felt underlayer under the nose stitching. Teddy retains his trailing “F” button and traces of his white ear tag as his Steiff ID. SIZE: Overall 30″ t (75cm). Sitting 19″ t (48cm). PROVENANCE: Chuck & Cathy Steffes Collection. CONDITION: Felt pads with holes and essential repairs. Light overall mohair thinning. Overall good to very good. 1-13845 (7,000-9,000) – Lot 3003
