RARE CONFEDERATE ROBINSON COPY OF A SHARP’S CARBINE. SN 376. Cal. 54. 21 5/8″ round bbl. The lock and bbl are both dated 1862 and have the full three line marking “S.C.ROBINSON. / ARMS MANUFACTORY. / RICHMOND.VA”. A paper tag, probably from a Bannerman Catalogue, is varnished to the stock. CONDITION: Rust brown patina overall. The wood has normal breaks on forearm with long crack on the bottom and large chip missing from the right side. The butt has been broken through wrist area and crudely repaired. The brass butt plate has a large casting flaw in the top. The breech block is probably a replacement from an original Sharps, although it matches the condition of the gun and has been with it for a long time. 4-46561 FS146 (10,000-15,000)
