RICHMOND MUSKET.

RICHMOND MUSKET. NSN. Cal. .61, 40″ round bbl. Dated 1862 at the rear of the lock, which is marked “C.S. / RICHMOND,VA.” at the front. Dated 1859 at the rear of the bbl with “US” proofs. The inspector cartouches have been gouged out of the left side of the stock. All furniture is U.S. The rear sight is probably a replacement. It has a canvas and leather sling. A description cut from Bannerman catalogue is varnished to the stock. CONDITION: All metal has been cleaned and is now starting to tone, but scratching from the abrasive still remains. The wood shows normal handling with a small gouge in the cone and several gouges at the bottom of the stock. The sling is dry and cracked, the action is good. 4-46546 FS242 (4,000-8,000)
