COLT MODEL 1855 BRITISH SADDLE RING CARBINE. SN 10080. Cal. .577, 21″ part oct. bbl. Three leaf side graduated 100, 300, 600. Marked “COL.COLT HARTFORD CT.U.S.A.” in a groove on top of the frame and “PATENTED SEPT. 10TH 1860” in one of the flutes of the cylinder. The Colt’s patent markings in the left side of the frame were mostly removed in the finishing. British proof marks on the bbl and each chamber of the cylinder, brass trigger guard and buttplate. CONDITION: 75% blue on the sides of the frame and on the cylinder, otherwise mostly cleaned to a gray patina with scattered light surface rust and pitting. The deluxe wood has minor handling marks and two scratches on the left side at the frame. Action is fine. 4-46673 FS257 (5,000-10,000)
