GROUP OF FIVE WALNUT VICTORIAN SIDE CHAIRS.

Second half 19th century, American. Including three Renaissance Revival upholstered chairs with carved and molded crests, each frame applied with burl walnut panel and carved rosettes centering the padded back, joined to the upholstered seat. The seat rail with applied carved cartouche raised on frontal cylindrical reeded legs with ringed cuffs. Each chair with matching bolster. Cabriole leg side chair with curving molded leg and single slat continuing to hip, rests centering the shaped over-upholstered seat over the serpentine molded seat rail raised on cabriole frontal legs. A carved Gothic style hall chair with foliate crest above the oval back carved with shaped colonnettes within a molded border above a pierced cartouche joined to the over-upholstered seat with serpentine front rail raised on four baluster and ring-turned legs. SIZE: 36-1/2″-42″ h at backs x 17″-18″ h of seats. PROVENANCE: From a Maine/Texas estate being sold unreserved. CONDITION: All chairs professionally cleaned, re-polished and re-upholstered.
