INLAID TANTALUS BOX, VALUABLES BOX AND TWO 19th CENTURY MAHOGANY TEA CADDIES.1) The Tantalus having a hinged top and front cover which opens to reveal a handled decanter and glass caddie (No glassware present). Box burl veneered with brass inlaid panels. 2) A valuables box having a half hinged top lid with two compartments and drawer underneath, below which are four drawers. The box having two side handles, the drawer fronts in a figured wood. 3) Rectangular shaped tea caddy having two lift lid boxes and a glass open bowl. Two lion faced handles on sides. 4) The coffin type tea caddy with overhanging lid, two hinged lid boxes with no bowl. Raised up on four brass feet. SIZE: 1) 10″ h x 13″ w x 9-1/2″ d. 2) 10″ h x 12″ w x 8″ d. 3) 6″ h x 12″ w. 6″ d. 4) 8″ h x 14″ w x 8-1/4″ d. CONDITION: 1) Some shrinkage to panels, minor imperfections in veneer, very good. 2) Very good. 3) Some edge losses, one tea box in need of repair, otherwise very good. 4) Area of damage to veneer on top. 49866-4 (300-500) – Lot 2629
