Third quarter, 19th century, American. The first example with 12 sided top; hinged and tilting on a turned standard of graduated spheres on a tripod scrolled base. The second an octagonal top stand on turned standard with shaped and scalloped tripartate base. SIZE: 1) 20-1/2″ h x 23″ d. 2) 29-1/2″ h x 11-1/2″ d. PROVENANCE: From a Maine/Texas estate being sold unreserved. CONDITION: The first with fresh polished surface. The mounting board with clean stress crack, otherwise good.
