First half 19th Century, New England. Rectangular hinged lid with applied molded edge, opening to a storage well. Lid interior with primitive folk art painting depicting the interior of a home next to a barn and landscape in black and salmon paint. Dovetailed box with molded plinth additionally fitted with iron carrying handles. The whole in green paint. SIZE: Height: 13-1/2″ Width: 30-1/2″ Depth: 16″ CONDITION: Lock has been moved and reinstalled, together with escutcheon. Till within the interior absent.
