SILK TABRIZ CORRIDOR RUG, NORTHERN PERSIA TOGETHER WITH GARDEN STYLE ORIENTAL RUNNER.

20th century. 1) Four aligned “Shah Abbas” rondels within a wine red field of dense floral vinery with conforming spandrels within a midnight blue main border of floral trelliswork. 2) The runner with four panels, each with eight aligned panels of foliage and garden sprays all within a conforming main border of floral devices, lotus blossoms and floral vinery. The whole woven in earth tones with maroon and midnight blue highlights. The rug with undetermined silk content. SIZE: 1) 3′ x 15′ 7″. 2) 2′ 1″ x 7” excluding fringe. PROVENANCE: From a Maine/Texas estate being sold unreserved. CONDITION: 1) Carpet retains full pile, a 3 to 4′ section of main border with substantial staining resulting from running of the dyes. 2) Very good. 51358-53, 51358-93, (800-1,200) – Lot 2603
