OAK FIRE SCREEN WITH SILK NEEDLEWORK PANEL INSERT.

Early 20th century. The rectangular oak frame surmounted by a pierced scrolled handle, raised on out-swept scrolled feet, mounted with a burlap panel embroidered with delicate silk floral sprigs and song bird and three colorful butterflies. SIZE: Overall 31″ t x 20-1/2″ w x 7-1/2″. PROVENANCE: From a Maine/Texas estate being sold unreserved. CONDITION: Screen retains original surface with dark nut brown patina. Right rear leg reattached with modern screws, protective glass panel intact and original. Embroidery in good condition with one very minor water stain on burlap above lower flower head. 51358-9 (150-250) – Lot 2599
