SHERATON STYLE EAGLE INLAID MAHOGANY SECRETARY BOOKCASE.

Second quarter 20th century, Massachusetts. In two parts, the shaped and molded crest with spire and urn finials and central inlaid rondel of flower head above a pair of Gothic astragal glazed cabinet doors above a pair of aligned short drawers set back on the lower case with hinged fold-out baise-lined writing surface with an oval inlay of a patriotic eagle above cyma curved top drawer flanked by lopers above two long drawers flanked by free standing ring-turned columnar supports continuing to ring turned turnip feet. SIZE: 74-1/2″ t x 41-1/2″ w x 19″ d. PROVENANCE: Maralyn Young estate, Arundel/Falmouth, ME, being sold unreserved. CONDITION: The secretary retains original surface now dry and somewhat crusty. Original brasses intact. Veneer loss beneath proper right loper. Vertical shrinkage crack proper left lower case side.
