FEDERAL INLAID MAHOGANY SQUARE CARD TABLE.First quarter, 19th century, probably New York. The rectangular, hinged top above conforming frieze with leaf edge tenons raised on square tapering legs with contrasting string inlays headed by oval fan paterae. Table constructed with single hinged leg for top support. SIZE: 29″ h x 31-1/2″ w x 16″ d. PROVENANCE: From a Maine/Texas estate being sold unreserved. CONDITION: Table has been re-polished, with early professional repair to the back of both tops resulting in a 1-1/2″ splice on the removable top and a 3″ wide splice to the fixed top, each running the full length of the board. structurally good. 51358-55 (400-600) – Lot 2538
