COMB BACK WINDSOR ROCKER WITH ARMS.

Early 19th century, New England. Rectangular comb raised on five cylindrical spindles joined to the stepped crest raised on seven cylindrical bent spindles. Shaped down sloping arms with rolled grips in mahogany above the single board shaped saddle seat raised on cylindrical legs joined by conforming box stretcher, all with simulated bamboo turnings joined to shaped rockers. The whole in a mustard sponge decorated and grained surface. SIZE: 39-1/2″ h (back) x 17-1/2″ h (seat). 21″ w (overall). CONDITION: With general overall wear to surface. The comb and crest section with old breaks and repairs. Crest rail reattached to styles with screws. Structurally weakened but remains serviceable. 51437-10 (250-300) – Lot 2534
