TWO JAPANESE WOODBLOCK PRINTS BY HISANOBU AND EIZAN.

1) Early 19th century. Japan. Double vertical diptych bijin, identified in margin in ink “By Eizan, 70 years old”, titled in in ink “A Wealthy City Girl”. Featuring a beautiful young woman with kimono decorated with butterflies, holding a baby. 2) Early 19th century. Japan. Single sheet bijin by Hisanobu featuring Japanese beauty with flowing kimono. Identified in ink on mount “By Hisanobu, 120 yrs old”, titled “High Class Girl”. SIZE: 1) Double vertical diptych oban tate-e, 29-1/2″ x 10″ (73.66cm x 25.4cm). 2) Single sheet, oban tate-e, 13-1/2″ x 9″ (34.29cm x 22.86cm). CONDITION: 1) Good with some minor insect damage and staining around edges, possibly laid down. Not examined outside of period frame. 2) Very good, some wrinkles, probably laid down, not examined out of frame. 7-75213 (500-700) – Lot 2533
