TWO DECORATIVE BOXES AND MAHOGANY PIANO STOOL.19th century, New England and Great Britain. Nicely paint decorated school girls box, decorated overall with floral sprays and sprigs, compartmentalized interior in blue paint. Inlaid mahogany wall box with scrolled backboard, hinged lid above the canted sided box inlaid with trompe l’oeil foliate spandrels within contrasting line inlay borders all centering a conch shell patera. Wall box with chestnut or oak backboard. Edwardian inlaid mahogany piano stool, with oval over upholstered seat joined to threaded wood column swiveling rectangular base with tapered legs joined by X-form stretcher. Apron with contrasting string inlay, legs with inlaid cuffs. SIZE: Box 3″ h x 9-1/2″ l x 7″ d. Wall box 19-3/4″ h x 7-3/4″ w (overall) x 7-1/4″ d (overall). Stool 20″ h (lowest) x 16″ l x 14″ w. CONDITION: Box with wear to painted surfaces, repair to rear of lid, key not present. Wall box with original surface, splice repair proper rear right side at bottom otherwise good.
