Last quarter 18th Century New England. This nice maple example retaining original paint with thin varnish overcoat. Mortar of simple tapering vase form with tall foot and incised ring decoration. The original tapered, shouldered pestle with mushroom cap end. SIZE: Mortar: 6-1/2″ h. Pestle: 10″ l. CONDITION: Paint as noted with dark patina. No damages or restorations noted.
