TWO SILK ORIENTAL RUGS.

1) An early (19th century or earlier) Isfahan with finely woven lacey floral shrub within a main border of scrolling floral vinery all wrought in shades of blue and green and ivory with midnight blue tracery and guard borders. 2) Tabriz style oriental rug with Shah Abbas central medallion in blues on a wine red ground with polychrome flower heads throughout within an idigo border of scrolling polychrome flower heads. SIZE: 1) 3′ 4″ x 3′ 4″. 2) 3′ 5″ x 5′ 4″. PROVENANCE: Maralyn Young estate, Arundel/Falmouth Maine, being sold unreserved. CONDITION: 1) Extreme wear at the center with overall soiling and discoloration commensurate with age. 2) Minor even wear, loss of fringe at ends, slight soiling throughout, otherwise good. 51412-70 (600-900) – Lot 2496
