EMPIRE TRANSITIONAL MAHOGANY TWO DOOR ARMOIRE.Mid 19th century. Arched pierced foliate carved crest with central rondel above the conforming molded cornice applied with a rondel flanked by shaped burl veneer panels joined to the rectangular case fitted with a pair of tombstone panel doors and with recessed panel sides, joined to the base fitted with an aligned molded pair of short drawers with foliate and nut carved handles. NOTE: The wardrobe disassembles by removing threaded rods. SIZE: 8′ 7″ h x 60″ w x 20″ d. PROVENANCE: From a Maine/Texas estate being sold unreserved.
