*STUNNING CUSTOM BROWNING SUPERPOSED SUPER-LIGHT 20 GA SHOTGUN.SN 223PWO2893. Cal. 20 ga. 26-1/4″ special steel bbl. 2-3/4″ chambers. Chokes marked Imp/Cyl Modified. Full length low profile ventilated and matted top rib with steel front bead. Gold-plated sgl selective trigger, automatic ejectors, non-automatic safety. Custom straight grip buttstock with long trigger guard tang, checkered in two-point pattern with 14-1/8″ LOP over black plastic “Browning” buttplate. Schnabel forearm checkered in four-point pattern. Blued receiver with light floral scroll and striking gold inlay including three incredible quail on right, large cock pheasant on left, Gambel’s quail on top lever, Bobwhite quail in gold of bottom of frame and “Superlight” in gold. Former owner’s initials inlaid in gold on forearm iron “FRM”. Trigger guard bow with light scroll engraving, housed in a light brown Browning case with keys. PROVENANCE: Forest R. Marshall Collection. CONDITION: Excellent as customized by Mr. Marshall and engraved by Thierry Duguet. Bbl retains 95%+ custom blued finish, as does receiver. Trigger guard starting to tone at grip with minor losses. Traces of gold-plating remain on trigger. Buttstock and forearm are excellent with minor handling marks and a couple of light scratches throughout. There is a minute grain separation on left side of trigger guard tang at bow and left side of forearm at knuckle. Bores are excellent, bright and shiny. Mechanics are crisp. Case is excellent with light rubs and minor handling marks. The quality of Mr. Duguet’s work is regarded internationally and this gun with blued frame is particularly striking. 51143-11 JSL (4,500-7,500) – Lot 2460
