DIMINUTIVE RENAISSANCE REVIVAL MARBLE TOP WALNUT HUNT BOARD.

Third quarter 19th century, American. The case in two parts. The upper section with shaped crest applied with scrolling leaves flanked by molded edges above the frieze, applied with S-scrolled leaf tip foliate molding, centering applied shaped and molded burl panels further centering a nicely carved ribbon-tied, game bird trophy. All above molded shelf on scrolled supports applied with rondels joined to a rectangular, white marble top with molded edge above the conforming lower case, fitted with a pair of aligned lower drawers with carved oak leaf handles and burl panels above a pair of burl panel cabinet doors, applied with central rosettes, all on a molded plinth. SIZE: 79″ h x 49-1/2″ l x 19″ d CONDITION: Huntboard all original with undisturbed surface and rich dark patina. Proper left front corner of marble with loss at edge, now sanded and polished. Proper right front corner of plinth missing corner block. Otherwise very good overall. 51556-1 (600-800) – Lot 2431
