*EARLY WINCHESTER MODEL 21 FIELD GRADE.

SN 744. Cal. 12 ga. This early Model 21 with plain extractors and double triggers has 28″ bbls fitted with matted game rib. Tops of bbls are marked with all standard nomenclature. Bottoms of bbls are marked for mod and full, and steel type. Blued standard action marked only with Winchester proof on water table, features automatic safety and double triggers. Plain American walnut square knob buttstock measures 14″ over composition Winchester buttplate. Splinter forend has J-spring release and secondary release with raised knurled button. Bore diameter: left -.729, right -.728. Bore restrictions: left -.035 (full), right -.009 (IC). Wall thickness: left -.034, right -.033. Drop at heel: 2-9/16″, drop at comb: 1-9/16″. Weight: 7 lbs 3 oz. LOP: 14″. CONDITION: Very fine, original. Bbls retain approx 70% orig blue, thinning overall, with considerable freckling, especially on bottom rib. Action retains 85 – 90% orig blue, silvered on sharp edges and thinning on bottom. Top lever is considerably flaked, as is trigger guard, which is nearly completely flaked, and is freckled, mostly brown. Stocks retain over 90% of their orig varnish finish with numerous marks, scratches, and some chipping toward orig buttplate. Bores are excellent. Action is tight.
