JEWELL FULL BODY MOLDED COPPER RUNNING HORSE WEATHERVANE.Late 19th century, A.L. Jewell, Waltham, Massachusetts. This small example with zinc head, sheet copper ears and tail now offered on a museum stand. SIZE: 17-1/2″ h with stand x 31″ l. CONDITION: With good verdigris surface, multiple seam separations notably on chest, on bent fore and rear legs, and neck and back seams. Body with bullet dents and with repaired bullet holes. Vertical support rod worn and corroded through, Horizontal support rod with split seam, support rod for back leg needs re-attaching and reinforcement. Feathered tail with some crimping and with deterioration of copper. A good, honest example in need of professional restoration. 50781-1 (3,000-5,000) – Lot 2420
