SCARCE AS FOUND NICHOLS & LEFEVER C-GRADE 10 GA SHOTGUN.SN 5798. Cal. 10 ga. 30″ Damascus bbls with full length Damascus top rib with brass front bead marked “NICHOLS & LEFEVER…”. Grade stamp and SN on water table. Double triggers (right trigger broken and mostly missing), extractor, no safety. Steel capped full pistol grip buttstock checkered in 3-pt pattern with silver oval and approx 14″ LOP over full steel buttplate. Oval at toe with original owner’s name “JOHN U STURR”. Splinter forearm, checkered in elongated 2-pt pattern with Deeley release and horn tip. Receiver is nicely engraved; setter on left pointer on right in game scene, turkey? on bottom all surrounded by light scroll. Trigger guard with setter soft mouthing a fallen woodcock. Lockplate marked “NICHOLS & LEFEVER”. CONDITION: Good as found and unrestored. Bbls with scattered light staining show about 1/3 of the original pattern. Buttstock and forearm are good with scattered light handling marks and scratches. Right bottom stock finger is broken and there are several incipient cracks around frame, which can be easily fixed. Right trigger is broken and missing. Mechanics are good. Bores with scattered pitting.
