EXCEEDINGLY RARE DANGERFIELD & LEFEVER SINGLE BBL 10 GA SHOTGUN.

NSN. Cal. 10 ga. Quarter octagon, 30″ three-quarter round bbl with brass front bead. Top of bbl marked “DANGERFIELD & LEFEVER AUBURN NY”. Back action lock with single hammer on right side of action, F.S. Dangerfield’s patent thumb push opener. Action made with short steel nose cap and no forearm. Buttstock checkered in 2-pt pattern with round knob and 14-3/8″ LOP over full steel buttplate. Weight: 7lbs. 11oz. CONDITION: Excellent and amongst the finest of this extremely rare example this cataloger has seen. Metal surfaces with an even brown and scattered minor surface discoloration. Buttstock is very good with open pores. There is a minor grain separator on left side of receiver and a large knot on right side of butt, near buttplate. Wood shows minor shrinkage around buttplate and buttplate is good with evidence of old erosion. Bore is very good with minor pitting.
