SN 25984. Cal. 12 ga. 30″ Chromox steel bbls. 2-3/4″ chambers. Choked Mod/Full. Full length matted top rib with twin ivory beads. Engraved oak leaf pattern at breech. Water Table and bbl flats marked with contemporary “FE” stamping, and orig “X” grade designation. Receiver is near fully engraved in standard XE pattern with duck on right, quail on left, and marked “Ansley H. Fox” all surrounded by flowing oak leaf engraving. Bottom of frame with fox at front, oak leaf pattern on trigger plate. Dbl triggers, auto ejectors, auto safety. Capped full pistol grip buttstock checkered in flowing two-point pattern with checkered side panels and 15″-1/4″ LOP over solid red Silver’s type pad with 1″ wood extension at butt. Splinter forearm with Deeley release checkered in two-point pattern with triangular ebony tip. Rebated frame. Trigger guard with oak leaf pattern and initials of an early owner which appear to be inlaid in silver “CDR”? Housed in a light brown leather takedown case with light green felt interior. Also accompanied by a 2002 Roe Clark letter describing this gun as orig shipped. Weight: 7 lbs. 14 oz. CONDITION: Excellent as refurbished. Bbls retain nearly all of a professionally restored rust-blue finish. Receiver retains virtually all of its professionally restored bone and charcoal case hardened finish, and appears to be a high quality reasonably close reproduction of orig Fox colors. Buttstock and forearm are excellent as restored, and retain most of their professionally restored high-gloss finish with minor handling marks throughout.
