SN 5279. Cal. 38 Colt. 4″ bbl. Blue finish with 1st pattern block “Colt” monogrammed hard rubber grips. Early 1st series with rampant Colt on left sideplate. Accompanied by numbered early blue labeled Colt box. Manufactured 1906. PROVENANCE: The Charles Copeland, Jr. Collection. CONDITION: Fine condition overall with slight discoloring of finish on muzzle end of bbl, backstrap and top strap. Bore and mechanics are very good. Most peacock blue remains on trigger. 3 lines of unknown definition have been applied to butt. Early hard rubber grips have very slight cracking at base with absolutely no material loss. Box is very good with blue label in tact, strong edges and corners, with evidence of an earlier repair to interior top. 50823-24 TDW (1,000-1,500) C&R – Lot 2403
