*GORGEOUS LC SMITH 5E 12 GA GAME GUN.

SN 202561. Cal. 12 ga. 28″ chain Damascus bbls (gorgeous!), 2-3/4″ chambers, chokes are MOD/FULL. Full length matted top rib with brass front bead marked “MADE TO ORDER BY THE HUNTER ARMS CO. FULTON N.Y.” with gold bar near breech. Dbl triggers, auto ejectors, auto safety. Capped full pistol buttstock, checkered in 2-pt pattern with brass oval near grip cap marked “RUTLEDGE I. ODELL TO WILLIAM B. HO…” (remainder obliterated). 14″ LOP over serrated line HRBP. Splinter forearm with banjo roll-type release and ebony tip is near fully checkered. Receiver is engraved in typical early Grade 5 pattern with setters on left, pointers on right in game scene surrounded by well executed floral and scroll engraving. Bottom of receiver with beautiful floral bouquet and trigger guard bow with same. Small wedge of scroll at breech. Both lockplates marked “L.C. Smith” in banner and gold “S” on top tang for three position safety. Most likely engraved by Frank Mason. CONDITION: Excellent. Bbls retain approx 98% vivid chain Damascus pattern which is bold and striking. Receiver retains approx 30-40% orig case colors that is somewhat hidden by engraving and lightly toned at bottom. Buttstock and forearm are excellent with minor scratches and retain most of their orig finish with a coat of finish added for preservation. Trigger guard has toned to a dark brown. Minute grain separation behind left lock, otherwise stocks are sound. Mechanics are crisp. Bores are bright and shiny with minor orange peel.
