FINE MAHAL ORIENTAL CARPET, WEST CENTRAL PERSIA.

Second quarter 20th Century. The central Arabesque floral medallion within midnight blue scrolling spandrels each with a floral filled urn. A rose red field filled with scrolled polychrome floral sprays within a scrolling border of leaf tips. The midnight blue main border of scrolling polychrome lotus blossoms all within multiple floral guard borders. SIZE: 11’2″ x 16′. CONDITION: Carpet remains in very good condition with full pile. Two woven horizontal parallel lines running through carpet appear to be a result of variation in the color of the wool not related to any restoration or alteration to the carpet.
