LOT OF 9 FIGURAL NAPKIN RINGS.1) Boat combination set. The front part of the boat is the open salt with a spoon for the salt. A small winged cherub sits on the side of the back of the boat by a large pepper shaker. The “wave” under the boat is where the napkin goes. What is missing is a “sail” butter plate that goes between the cherub’s legs and attaches to the hook on the pole at the front of the boat. Marked “Wilcox Silver Plate Co. #1670”. CONDITION: Silver is good. 2) Combination set. Open salt and open pepper rest on large leaves that are supported by arched branches. A tall branch from the back of the leaves balances the napkin holder. Marked “Roger S. Smith & Co. #13”. CONDITION: Silver is fair. 3) Large, fern-like leaves and three-leaf clovers elevate the napkin holder on a round raised base. Marked “J.B. Timberlake” on a button “#6”. Plate 492. CONDITION: Silver is good. 4) A large lyre anchors a napkin holder in place. No makers mark or numbers. Plate 605. CONDITION: Silver is fair. 5) A lily leaf base supports a napkin holder on a short pedestal. A lily bud, whose stem forms a handle, decorates one side. Marked “Rogers Smith & Co. #168”. Plate 495. CONDITION: Silver is good. 6) A heart-shaped base with small ball feet and cut-out hearts supports a chicken foot, wishbone and the napkin holder. The napkin holder also has cut-out hearts and is engraved “Best Wishes”. Marked Wilcox Silver Plate Co. #8204. CONDITION: Silver is good. 7) Triangular napkin holder with four ball feet and with pretty lattice edging is adorned with crossed wishbones. The napkin holder is engraved “Best Wishes”. On the reverse side of the ring are 3 initials. Marked “Meriden B. Company #636”. Page 138. CONDITION: Silver is fair. 8) This napkin ring is composed of a stylized morning glory bud vase, an Oriental fan, a butterfly and bamboo leaves under the napkin holder. All is mounted on a rectangular base with chamfered corners. Marked “Simpson, Hall, Miller & Co. #024”. Plate 322. CONDITION: Silver is fair to good. This piece appears to have some sort of lacquer on it to prevent tarnishing. But, it has tarnished under the lacquer on the front of the base. 9) A silver-plated bud vase tops a napkin holder that is supported by a stand with Egyptian heads and legs ending with hoofs. A small, detailed lion reclines on the lower shelf. Marked “Porter Brit & Plate Co. #45”. Plate 297. CONDITION: Silver is fair.
