REGENCY JAPANNED DECORATED TEA CADDY IN THE ORIENTAL TASTE.

First third 19th century, England. The rectangular hinged lid with in-curved sides opening to an interior fitted with a pair of aligned tea bins with wooden lids and brass knobs, cross-hatch decorated. With brass ring handles with pressed backplates, raised on pressed brass feet in the form of mythical masks. The lid decorated with a pagoda within a landscape. The tea caddy decorated overall with fanciful flower heads amidst foliate vinery and tendrils, all within foliate borders. SIZE: 6-1/4″ t x 9=1/2″ l x 5-1/2″ d. CONDITION: Structurally very good, professionally re-polished, with a lustrous finish. Hardware all original. Very good overall. 51376-52 (1,000-1,500) – Lot 2381
