FINE REGENCY INLAID SATINWOOD TEA CADDY.

First third 19th century, England. The rectangular hinged lid with central oval shell inlay within a rosewood cross-banded border opening to an interior fitted with a pair of shell inlaid lidded boxes, centering a circular leather lined figured maple holder for a waste bowl, now absent. A hallmarked silverplate small serving spoon with engraved thistle decoration accompanies the tea caddy. The front panel with conforming shell inlay. SIZE: 6-1/2″ t x 14″ l x 7″ d. CONDITION: Professionally re-polished, horizontal shrinkage crack through center of lid stabilized. Retains original lock and receiver. 51376-53 (1,000-1,500) – Lot 2379
