JACOBEAN STYLE CARVED OAK GATELEG TABLE.19th century, England. This 19th century example comprised of old timber. The rectangular top with bowed ends, with hinged demilune leaves. Projecting above the scalloped apron raised on six blocked and baluster-turned legs. The center most a pivoting gate leg. All joined by molded rectangular box stretcher. Raised on turned ball feet. The table entirely of pegged construction. SIZE: 28″ h x 36″ l x 17″ w closed. PROVENANCE: Maralyn Young estate, Arundel/Falmouth Maine, being sold unreserved. CONDITION: Structurally very good with good patina. Surface is now crusty and dry. Topped with moderate soiling and water stains, both of which are restorable. 51412-57 (800-1,200) – Lot 2363
