*RARE HIGH CONDITION .410 LEFEVER “A” GRADE SKEET GUN.

SN 301027. Cal. .410 ga. 3″ Chambers. 26″ Bbls with raised, matted rib mounting “certifiable pre-ban ivory” mid and synthetic red front beads, are stamped “LEFEVER ARMS, BRANCH ITHACA GUN CO INC, ITHACA, N.Y.” and “LEFEVER A GRADE” on tops. Case hardened boxlock action is stamped with SN, “A” and “410” on water table, and features automatic safety, single trigger, and automatic ejectors. Plain American walnut stocks feature typical checkering, pistol grip cap, and ribbed buttplate. Matching beavertail forend has inlet triangular ebony tip. Bore diameter at muzzles: left-.402, right -.408. Drop at heel: 2-1/8″, drop at comb: 1-3/8″. Weight: 6 lbs. 8 oz. LOP: 14-1/4″. PROVENANCE: Letter from Walter Snyder with factory records stating it was shipped on Aug 7, 1937, with copy of orig invoice, ledger page, and a note that it is one of only 13 “A” grades made in 1937″ and “only 3 known at this time to exist”. CONDITION: Excellent, near new, appears essentially unfired, with only a few minor marks on wood and metal., most notably, a fair size scratch on left top of beavertail, and some chipping of varnish on comb of buttstock. 5 or 6 diamonds are missing from checkering. Blue of secondary forend release has some silvering and freckling. Mechanically crisp.
