RARE PAIR OF JAMES TUTTLE BOW BACK WINDSOR SIDE CHAIRS.

James Chapman Tuttle (1772-1849), Salem, Massachusetts. Each branded example with shaped molded crest centering eight simulated bamboo spindles joined to saddle seat. Raised on splayed and shaped cylindrical legs, joined by an H-form stretcher, in old green paint over original black. SIZE: 37-1/4″ h x 16-1/2″ h (seat). CONDITION: Structurally very good, with normal and appropriate wear. One chair with splinter loss to interior proper left side stretcher.
