AMERICAN TOURING CAR COPPER WEATHERVANE.1st half 20th century. American. Artist unknown. These weathervanes/trade signs were use by repair stations and blacksmith shops to show that they also worked on cars as many repair shops in more remote areas were actually the local blacksmith. Similar example on page 101 of “A Gallery of American Weathervanes, and Whiligigs” by Robert Bishop and Patricia Coblentz.
