FINE MINIATURE CHIPPENDALE PINE BLANKET CHEST.

Second half 18th century, New England. The hinged lid with applied molded lid opening to an interior with hinged till. The dovetailed chest on molded base with bracket feet carved from the solid with shaped returns. The whole in a red/brown wash, finished on all sides. SIZE: 8-1/2″ t x 14-1/2 l x 8-3/4″ d. CONDITION: The box in untouched condition with original surface, now a rich brown patina. Surface abrasions on most case edges resulting from normal in use wear. Feet original without restoration.
