*RUGER MODEL SP101 DA REVOLVER PURPORTEDLY THE PROPERTY OF WILLIAM B. RUGER, FOUNDER OF STURM RUGER FIREARMS.

SN 880-00301. Cal. 9mm. All stainless revolver with 3″ medium weight bbl, fixed sights and standard markings. Mounted with wood panel rubber grips. Accompanied by a gray plastic Ruger case and owner’s manual. Also accompanied by a letter on Batterman’s Auction Co. letterhead dated November 22, 2010 over the signature of Kurt R. Vogel. The first paragraph of this letter identifies this revolver by model, caliber and serial number and states “This arm is tagged with a white tag upon which is written in his daughter’s hand “Mr. Ruger’s personal side arm” This arm sold at Batterman’s November 7, 2010″. Personal knowledge of this cataloger is that Mr. Ruger’s middle name is Batterman and that his son-in-law was the late Stephen Kurt Vogel. Kurt R. Vogel is Mr. Ruger’s grandson, which all lends authenticity to the provenance of this revolver as having been Mr. Ruger’s personal carry arm. Also accompanied by a 2-3/4″ x 1-7/8″ manila tag which has the handwritten inscription “Mr Ruger’s Personal side arm”. It is also annotated “9mm para” and with the number 4718 which is the auction number from the aforementioned auction sale. CONDITION: Extremely fine.
