E. HOWARD & CO. NUMBER 11 “KEYHOLE” WALL REGULATOR.

Circa 1885, Boston, Massachusetts. The rosewood grain painted case with molded door opening to an 11-1/2″ enameled dial with Roman numeral chapter ring and time only aperture. Dial inscribed in script “E. Howard & Co.” above “Boston” in upper case italic lettering above thee black, gold, and maroon glass throat panel. The hinged throat glass opening to a damascene bob and pendulum rod. The brass eight day time only movement stamped “E. Howard & Co. BOSTON”, the original iron monogrammed with numeral “7”. SIZE: Overall case 31-1/2″ l x 13-1/2″ w. PROVENANCE: From the Waterhouse family of Westbrook, ME by descent to the present owner. CONDITION: Clock appears to be totally original. Movement appears operational and clean. Pendulum tie-down intact. Hands original. Original surface on case. Very good overall. 51527-1 (1,500-2,500) – Lot 2314
