PULLED FEATHER VASE.

Large pulled feather vase attributed to Durand has gold iridescent pulled feather design descending from the lip and ascending from the foot against a cream colored background. Each pulled feather is outlined in orange. Vase is accompanied by a letter from the Museum of American Glass dated 1993 in which the curator says she has researched this vase and has found a photograph of a similar example in a lamp base. The photograph of the lamp was part of the Martin Bach Papers. A black and white copy of that photo also accompanies the vase. While the vase shape and pattern differs somewhat from that of the lamp base photograph, it is very similar. SIZE: 10-1/2″ t. CONDITION: There is a small area with a grouping of minor scratches and pits on one side of the vase, otherwise very good. 5-69602 (800-1,200) – Lot 2306
