The hand painted image of the Mother of God supporting her standing son. The gilt metal oklad with a pierced halo. Two hallmarks on left side of halo 84 (875/1000 silver content) and makers mark (O, upside down L), also marked center bottom. Housed in a framed hinged box with glass top. Original key present. Box is fitted on bottom with removable candle sconce. A wrought iron stand accompanies the piece. SIZE: Box: 16-1/4″ h x 14-1/2″ w x 3″ d. Icon: 12-1/2″ h x 10-1/2″ w.
