4 PIECE GEORG JENSEN “COSMOS” STERLING SILVER TEA SET.

Jensen mark on base circa 1915-1927, Denmark. Design #45 bearing the mark of Georg Jensen silversmith and the mark of Johan Rohde (1856-1935), designer. Finely crafted and designed for the mid century modern market, each piece with stylized gadrooned base, streamlined body, with carved ivory set handles, joined with foliate elements. Set consists of a tall coffee pot (10-1/2″ h), a low tea pot (6-1/4″ h), a creamer (4-1/4″ h) and a covered sugar bowl (4″ h). Total weight 69oz Troy. Johan Rohde was a Danish painter, lithographer and designer and the principal founder of “Den Frie Udstilling” establishing in 1891 to allow artists to exhibit works that did not fit into the academy’s normal selection criteria. 69 troy oz.
