AUSTRIAN WALL SCONCE.

Austrian Gimbel style wall sconce has cast bronze wall plate and arm with Gimbel style socket and shade holder. Gimbel style lamp was originally designed for use on ships so free swinging shade holder and socket would stay level as boat rocked. Sconce can also be used as small table lamp by simply resting wall plate on table. Sconce is finished in gold patina and houses Loetz dome shade with pink oil spot decoration at top of dome against cream colored lightly iridescent background. Sconce and shade are unsigned. SIZE: Wall plate 5″ l. Approximately 10″ from wall to edge of shade. Approximately 10-1/2″ tall when used as table lamp. CONDITION: Sconce is very good to excellent.
