Mid 19th century, probably Maine. The rectangular chest with hinge lid opening to a storage well. The case fitted with two long drawers on a molded base with bracket feet. The chest with simulated rosewood graining and paint decorated with fruit filled cornucopia within spandrels filled with floral sprays and fruit all within green/gold borders. SIZE: 35″ h x 41″ w x 19-3/4″ d. PROVENANCE: Maralyn Young estate, Arundel/Falmouth Maine, being sold unreserved. CONDITION: The top with an old repair along rear in areas of rat-tail hinges. Proper right rear and left front feet have been repaired and reapplied. Otherwise painted and decorated surfaces are intact. 51412-35 (500-800) – Lot 2285
