TWO FINE CARVED CROOKED KNIVES.

19th century, New England. The first a birch example with copper band wrap and iron blade in original Spanish brown paint. The handle embellished with triple step carved heart above the hand grip carved with raised diamond and zig zag designs. The handle sides with saw tooth carving. The backside with scooped thumb grip. The second with shaped burl maple handle wrapped with animal hide holding the iron blade. The blade mount with chamfered edges, handgrip with mushroom cap. SIZE: First 9-1/2″ l. Second 11-1/2″ l.
