AMERICAN SILVER 3 PIECE TEA SERVICE MADE BY WM. BRAISTED HEYER.Early 19th century. New York. Hand chased American silver 3 piece tea service of stepped oval configuration, each piece on 4 ball feet with lower lobed section, waisted center with applied mid band of scroll decoration and applied foliate bands at top and base, square handles and stepped oval covers on sugar and tea pot with fluted domes and finials. Made in New York City by William Braisted Heyer about 1805. Each piece has rectangular plaques soldered inside of base with family lineage from 1805 – 1968. Accompanying this lot will be an appraisal from 1987 with extended family history. SIZE: Teapot 10″ h. Total weight 60.4 troy ounces. PROVENANCE: History well documented on plaques under bases, beginning with Elizabeth Stanton Buckingham who owned it in 1805, descended through 4 other owners to Alice Willcox Whitney in 1868.
