UNUSUAL PAIR OF TIN WALL LANTERNS WITH SCALLOP SHELL REFLECTORS.Early 19th century, American. The rectangular lantern with folded edges mounted with three clear glass panels, the third in the form of a hinged access door at the side. The back with original mirror plate. The base fitted with a single candle cup with drip pan. The tin back affixed with a veined scalloped shell rolled tin reflector, slightly curving above the opening. The whole with remnants of original black paint. The second of identical construction, the hinged door absent. SIZE: Overall 15″ t x 8-1/2″ w x 4″ d. CONDITION: With original painted surfaces as noted. Each with normal expected in use wear.
