INTERESTING LOT OF EARLY ITEMS BELONGING TO CAPT. JOHN LINCOLN & PURPORTEDLY SAMUEL ADAMS.

1) An old box with top label having penned inscription “Mrs. Oscar Hobart Stringer”. The box interior having pencil & pen inscription as follows: “Knife & fork carried by John Lincoln-Drummer boy in Expedition to Canada. Later Captain in Revolution” (4-1/2″ knife & 6″ fork in lot steel & wood); Powder horn & flint from Samuel Adams-Kept by D. Ferris Carlton-Bertha can keep or give to Mary”. There is also an old piece of paper with penned inscription “Belongs to Bertha Hobart Stringer died-Descendent of Samuel Lincoln the knife and fork was carried by Capt. John Lincoln when he led his troops to Canada”; 8″ leather & brass shot flask and flint pouch & striker accompany the lot. PROVENANCE: Descended in the family of our Maine consignor.
